I grew up outside of San Antonio in the Texas hill country, after high school, my interests in aviation soared to new heights and I quickly obtained my private pilots´ license, followed right behind with instrument, commercial and flight instructor ratings. I enjoyed flying all over Mexico, Central America and a few "trans Caribbean" trips as well. Growing bored with airplanes I discovered the world of hot air balloons in the early 1980´s. I was well into my second hot air balloon when a Re/Max broker asked me to operate his new Re/Max balloon on the weekends. Being in the construction business during the week and surrounded with real estate agents on the weekend, it didn´t take long before I was also inspecting homes on the side.

It´s now twenty nine years later and I am enjoying my twelfth hot air balloon, inspecting homes and hanging around real estate agents. The only difference is that now I am 1,500 miles farther north and surrounded by mountains. Home inspection technology has changed a great deal and advances are being made every day. I never would have thought we would be using wireless pocket computers, infrared cameras and expensive gas and electrical analyzers as we instantly upload our inspection reports. The home inspection business is constantly changing and I welcome all of this new technology.
Decades have passed since my first balloon flight and I´ve since added gas, helium and hydrogen balloon ratings to my license as well. In 2005, I added the State of Utah hot air balloon championship to my collection. My ballooning hobby has truely transformed into a lifelong passion. Spending the last 29 years flying balloons in Europe, Canada and Mexico as well as all over the US has definitely given me the opportunity to see real estate from a whole different perspective.
